Discovering Fly Fishing with Jason Akl I am a self-taught fly fisher/ fly dresser who grew up under the bright lights of the big city, Toronto (Canada) that is. I started fly fishing about 7 years ago and since then it has become the staple which my life revolves around. Fly fishing small streams for wild trout is my passion. Being able to get out for a day and explore the breathtaking scenery while at the same time having the opportunity to catch a trophy fish, from a few feet of water amazes me. And I am quite sure it always will. About the same time that I started to fly fish I also began learning to dress my own flies, which after many back breaking hours and bloody fingers has turned out be more than a hobby for me. I have for the past several years been tying commercially for lodges, priva te clients, teaching classes and when free time presents it self; writing fly tying tutorials.Well not much more is needed to be said on my behalf other than hope to see you out on the waters.
